To get to Turtle Back Parking Area: From Pleasant Valley Way/Cherry Lane, go EAST on Northfield Ave. About one quarter mile past South Mountain Arena turn RIGHT at the traffic light at Walker Rd. Park entrance will be on the right. |
TIME: 9:30 a.m. to noon
COST: $12 per person.

Join local wild food enthusiast and forager, Dan Lipow, owner of DiningWild, for a moderately paced hike through the reservation as we focus on seasonally available wild food. Dan will share his knowledge of edible plants and fungi as frequent stops are made to learn about and collect nature’s bounty. We are likely to spot mushrooms and spring greens such as sassafras and garlic mustard.
Bring bags or containers with you, as well as plenty of water.
Proceeds from the hike will benefit SFNNJ’s school and urban garden fund. |
